Description
All Charlotte Deerborn wanted was a nice Thanksgiving dinner with family and friends. Too bad for her no one else wanted to be there. By the time the turkey is carved, old grievances, bad behavior and crass remarks have transformed her dinner party into a disaster. And then a werewolf shows up to do some carving of its own.
Winner of the 2022 Global Book Award gold medal in horror, Wolf at the Door is a fast-paced, absurdist take on modern creature horror, levering humor and action to highlight how one family comes to grips with what really matters in life.

Excerpt: Wolf at the Door (by (author) Joel McKay)
"Doug, care to do the honors?" Char said, smiling at him, quite pleased with the final presentation.
A carving knife and oversized fork were laid next to the turkey on the platter. Doug smiled at her and got to his feet. He grabbed them and was about to sink the fork in when Owen piped up.
"Sure you know what you're doing there, Doug? Not sure those hands have ever seen a hard day's work," he said, with a grunt that must've been his version of a laugh.
"We all work hard in different ways, Owen," Doug said, his voice tightening as if he were struggling to hold something in his throat.
As her husband sank the knife into the white flesh of the bird, Char felt a sinking feeling settle in her stomach.
