R.D. Lawrence captures the sights, sounds and smells of the awesome Pacific, its inlets, streams, and rivers and coastline during a six-month exploration of the coasts of British Columbia and the northwestern United States. An encounter with nature, specifically with some of the world’s massive sea creatures (killer whales, octopi, porpoises). What began as the naturalist- author’s simple venture to explore in solitude culminated in a thrilling rendezvous unlike any he had previously experienced.

About the author

R.D. Lawrence, the son of an English father and a Spanish mother, was born at sea, aboard a British passenger ship sailing in Spanish territorial waters. His early years in Spain and his Spanish Civil War and World War II experiences are well-documented in his autobiography, The Green Trees Beyond.
