Description

"This is a very funny story about being small and wanting to grow up. The illustrations match the content perfectly, they are funny and expressive. As long as Vincent is small, he keeps walking with a piece of an eggshell on his head. Only when he has become a rooster, the shell has also disappeared. Fun and recognizable for toddlers for whom things cannot go fast enough." - Pluizer Reviews

Even before he was born, Vincent was a restless chick. He left the egg faster than his brothers and sisters. Now he wants to be the first one to eat worms, to roost with the chickens and walk to school through the woods. A fox makes Vincent more careful, but he’ll probably never be quiet and patient …

A mother hen has a lot of patience with her busy chick in this playful, humorous story. For children ages 4 and up.Guided Reading Level J

About the authors

Contributor Notes

Thierry Robberecht has two children and lives in Brussels (Belgium). He has been writing children’s books since fifteen years now, often about subjects that children find difficult to talk about, e.g. secrets, death, envy and rage. He likes to create characters who feel like they don’t fit in. His own childhood is an excellent source of inspiration for that.

Loufane’s real name is Stephanie Frippiat. She was born in 1976 and grew up in Aarlen (Belgium). For years she dreamt about making a big journey. Now that dream has become true: she now lives in Canada with her boyfriend.

Editorial Reviews

PRAISE FOR THIERRY ROBBERECHT'S SUPERHERO SCHOOL:
"The story is clever and kids will appreciate that Henry's skills are needed. Goossens's illustrations are bright and inviting. An appealing storytime choice." - School Library Journal

“Superhero School” feels a little like a combination of “The Incredibles” and “Monsters Inc.” ...Kids will love the bright colors, imaginative monster and daring little superheroes. They will also learn that being different isn’t necessarily a bad thing and that humor can go a long way toward making a sticky situation better." - Crackingthecover.com
