Description

Spanning a period of nearly eighty years, the stories in this collection present the experience of living in Vancouver as filtered through the imagination of some of Canada's most famous writers. In tone, the stories range from the grimness of Dorothy Livesay's account of Depression misery, to the irony of Ethel Wilson's narrative of an evening garden party. Other well-known authors include Emily Carr, Malcolm Lowry, Alice Munro, Audrey Thomas, and Joy Kogawa.
