Description

Despite his athletic build, Matis was born a haemophiliac. Imagine having the vitality of a 16 year-old but living in a body that can't take a hit... Any kind of blow could cause a haemorrhage. But the real wound, the incurable wound, stems from his family. After a terrible car accident two years prior, Matis' mother passed away. Without Iris, the apple of his eyes, Matis' father can't even smile. Such wounds are slow to fade away... But Matis will prove that he's got courage for the two of them and takes his father to Newfoundland, Iris' native province. Together they'll uncover the rocks on which they can build a new life.

About the author

Quebec-born Danielle Loranger is a self-taught artist and a devoted mother and wife. She developed her talent in Newfoundland, where she's had numerous exhibits, in both St. John's and her studio in Hillview, Trinity Bay; her work depicting delicate scenes of Newfoundland life. Even though she now shares her time between the island and Boudreau Office in New Brunswick, her windows always face the sea.
