Description
Mick decides that his long-term relationship with Jade is finally over.
After ending it, he realizes the hardest part will be saying goodbye to her little brother, Gavin, who suffers from severe migraines. Mick's friends suspect that Jade's constant calls for help are just too convenient to be real. What are the chances Gavin would relapse every time Mick is out with someone new? Mick admits they're not very good—but he's seen the boy. A four-year-old can't fake an illness like that. Turns out both Mick and his friends are right.
This short novel is a high-interest, low-reading level book for teen readers who are building reading skills, want a quick read or say they don’t like to read!

Editorial Reviews
"An accurate snapshot of how people...use manipulation as their tool to bully and control. It's a worthy addition to classroom and library collections as an interesting, quick read and as a balance to the stories of other kinds of dating violence and bullying."
Southwestern Ohio Young Adult Materials Review Group
"Rich in teen angst and the human condition, this novel will shock the teen reader with an awareness of how emotionally disturbed the human psyche can become...Highly recommended for the reluctant reader collection in school library."
Resource Links
"A great read for both males and females...Grant has woven a story about teenage relationships that is both gripping and believable. She also touches on themes such as mental illness, co-dependent relationships, and poverty. Triggered would also make an interesting novel study for multiple grades and is highly recommend for middle-school and high school libraries. Highly Recommended."
