Description

"What kind of book do you want ot write?" asked Mum.
"oh, I dunno. A story. About a girl who does things that are hard and brave and wonderful...And then she finds out that she isn't who she thought she was-she's really a princess and very intelligent...and her people are really proud of her."

Jenny longs to be the smart, fearless, lovable princess of her dreams. But the way things were going with her mum that summer vacation on an island off British Columbia, she despairs of ever succeeding. Patrick and Lucy, her best friends, have no doubts about Jenny's worth, however. And after she rescues the missing Patrick and helps the elderly Lucy learn to read, Henny has to admit she is convinced too.
