About a year passed after the disastrous, yet at the same time also a relatively successful, sale of Bridgette's house. The money was indeed deposited into the Bridgette's account, but since Carry, her older sister, was still carrying a power of attorney for a few more months, she managed to empty Bridgette's bank account right before her power of attorney was due to expire. Bridgette would not learn about the deceit until the money was gone. As to where the money ended up is the topic of this tale.
