Description
When Lucy discovers a leprechaun has been ensorcelled into the Internet by a disgruntled witch, it is up to her to help him return to his home in the old rootcellar. This is a modern fairy tale, set in Elliston, Newfoundland, the root-cellar capital of the world. Scenic watercolours of the Bonavista peninsula colour this lively story.
About the author
Caroline Stellings is an author and illustrator of children’s books from Waterdown, Ontario. She is a professional artist who loves to paint the many birds and animals that inhabit the wetland area near her studio. Her previous books include The Malagawatch Mice and the Church that Sailed (CBU Press), Skippers Save the Stone, a children’s book in English and Gaelic, also from CBU Press, and Skippers At Cape Spear (Breakwater Books).
Editorial Reviews
"Find a copy of The Dot Com Leprechaun, curl up on the couch and read it to your children, or your grandchildren." -Harold Walters, The Southern Gazette
"Stellings' choice to use watercolours gives the book an overall whimsical feeling which better matches the more fantastical elements of the story (the leprechaun, witches, fairies, elves, pixies and gnomes) and is, as well, an homage to the book's beautiful setting."
Nicole Dixon, Newfoundland and Labrador Studies
"Magic, history and technology come together in Stellings’ whimsical sixth book. Like Stellings’ other books — the Skipper Dogs series and Malagawatch Mice and, for older kids, The Contest — this tale gives readers a taste of the region’s history in a fun and memorable way." -Pam Sword, The Chronicle Herald
