Description

This second collection by Caroline Di Giovanni features the tri-part form of poems clustered around "Parents", "Places" and People", evocative of a triptych, sounding a classical balance, poise and grace.Every poem is informed with the poignant and seasoned wisdom of years, as in "Where Are the Boys?" as sons return for a final vigil over a dying mother or the exquisite enchantment of such poems as "Wartime Romance."This collection is looking back of a different sort, not nostalgia, but a peering through the layers of time with something true and meaningful to say about this fragile life and the journey we all share. -- Darlene Madott, author of Bressani award-winning Making Olives and Other Family Secrets, 2008 and Stations of the Heart, 2012
