About the author
Bryan Lee O'Malley is a Canadian cartoonist currently living in Los Angeles. His six-volume Scott Pilgrim series was a New York Times bestseller, an LA Times Book Prize finalist, and won an Eisner Award, two Harvey Awards, a Doug Wright Award, and a Joe Shuster Award. In 2010, Scott Pilgrim was adapted into a critically-acclaimed major motion picture (from Universal), video game (from Ubisoft), and the upcoming animated series on Netflix. His books (including Lost at Sea, Seconds, and Snotgirl) have been translated into over twenty languages.
Editorial Reviews
“Hilarious and bittersweet, Scott Pilgrim is that rare ‘young adult’ work that’s truly for young adults. Scott’s belated emotional coming-of-age is the centerpiece, but all the characters grow in self-awareness as the series plays out. Friendships falter and reconfigure, love and self-respect are lost and found, and nobody leaves the series quite the same as when they entered.”
Kirkus Reviews
“Witty, self-aware dialogue and acute observational humor wink from the pages, and the result is an appealing, lighthearted account of a transitional period of life.”
New York Times
“Combining slice-of-life romance with an irreverent sense of humor and video game-inspired action, the six-part Scott Pilgrim series of graphic novels is equal parts poignant, thrilling, and absurd . . .”
AV Club

"Stitches together indie-rock attitude, video game logic, and romantic longing . . .a hilarious, idiosyncratic gem."
Washington Post
". . . landmark series that will reverberate through the comic book world for years to come."
IGN
“O'Malley has crafted a delightfully hybrid comics love story. It's an alt-lit, rock 'n' roll graphic novel with wonderful manga-influenced drawing and a comically mystical plot that manages to capture both the genuine intimacies and serial dishonesties of young love.”
