Description

The main themes of the works in Salvation can roughly be broken down into two categories: conservation and restoration. Both artists use recycled and found materials in their artwork while their technique and processes differ. For many years both MacCool and McFarlane have been involved in very practical ways of environmental conservation. This has undoubtedly affected their artistic practice - both in thought and in technique. Salvation provides a comparative context in which the pairing of these two artist' works becomes an extensive and challenging visual discourse on this subject.
