Description

Anne’s daughter Rilla is just fifteen when her childhood ends. With the outbreak of WWI, there’s no time for mooning over handsome Kenneth Ford. Instead, Rilla’s days are spent caring for a war-baby and knitting socks for soldiers in Europe. Among them is her brother Jem, while sensitive Walter struggles with his choice to stay home as the war most believed would be over by Christmas drags on for years. And all the while Jem’s Little Dog Monday awaits his master’s return.

Book 8 of the Anne of Green Gables series by L. M. Montgomery. A tale of literature’s most famous redhead and her colourful imagination. An excellent introduction to classic literature and perfect for readers aged 9+.

About the authors

Lucy Maud Montgomery had her first poem published at the age of 15 and after completing college she worked for a short time as a journalist before becoming a teacher. In 1908 Anne of Green Gables was published to huge acclaim with Anne of Avonlea coming soon after.
