About the authors
Marguerite Paulin teaches at McGill University and also produces and hosts a radio program. She is also the author of René Lévesque (XYZ Publishing, 2004).

Nora Alleyn grew up in a bicultural family in Québec City. Following a B.A. in languages at McGill University, she joined the Department of External Affairs and lived in Europe and the Middle East. She studied translation at Laval, McGill and the Université de Montréal, and creative writing at the National University of Ireland (Galway), Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference (University of Vermont), Summer Film Institute (Massachussetts), and West Word (UBC).
Tom Shardlow holds a B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of British Columbia and is a Research Biologist with more than thirty articles contributed to international scientific and technical journals. His diverse writing, ranges from poetry and prize winning short fiction published in literary magazines to book reviews for Quill and Quire and Canadian Geographic. His freelance work, which includes creative drawings and photographs, often appear as feature articles in magazines and in newspapers. Tom has completed a biography of David Thompson , A Trail by Stars, for XYZ Publishing and is currently working on a popular history of biology and a science-fiction novel. He lives with his family on Vancouver Island.
Heather Kirk has written professionally for more than thirty-five years, producing newspaper and magazine articles, scholarly articles, radio scripts, poetry, and fiction. She has also taught for more than twenty-five years in universities and colleges. Recently she has authored four books for young people. She currently lives in Barrie, Ontario.
Anne Cimon is a writer and poet, living near Montreal, Quebec. She has published four books of poetry. Cimon has also worked as a freelance writer for many years and her book reviews and literary articles have been published in many Canadian and U.S. magazines and newspapers.
André Vanasse obtained a Ph.D. in literature from the Université de Paris-Vincennes. He is vice-chairman and editorial director of XYZ éditeur. He is directs the Romanichels and the Étoile variables collections, and is editor of the literary magazine Lettres Québécoises. André also writes novels and essays.
