Description

A visitor's guide to British Columbia's most picturesque natural and cultural highlights.

British Columbia, Canada’s third-largest province, is a land of immense geographic beauty and diversity. From its vast regions of coastal and interior wilderness to its rustic heritage towns and vibrant multicultural cities, the province offers unparalleled opportunities for outdoor explorers and urban sophisticates alike. This collection of images depicts the unique elements of all regions of the province including both its urban and rural landscapes. From Vancouver Island to East Kootenay, from the Okanagan to the Cariboo-Chilcotin, from the Fraser Valley to Peace River country, Al Harvey captures the breadth of his homeland. Al Harvey’s spectacular photographs capture it all in this tribute to one of the world’s most beautiful places.

About the author

Al Harvey was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. For more than 30 years he has travelled the province, the country and the world as a photographer. He now has almost half a million images in his stock library (www.slidefarm.com). Al is an active backpacker and kayaker, and his ocean-kayaking expeditions have taken him along many hundreds of kilometres of wilderness shoreline. He plays hockey twice a week in season, enjoys astronomy and geography, and is known for brewing fine homemade beer.
