Description
As a woman, I have endured much over the years––some things have left deep scars, some have brought joy. I have watched fellow females struggle, and I have held many of them in my arms and my heart as they poured out their pain.
I consider myself one of the lucky ones because I had my pen to fight the demons that invaded my world, and I was able to use that same pen to help and touch the hearts of females around me. Many tears were shed when I shared my poems, as the words touched the spirit of the women listening.
I do not want you to think that all that is written in this book has happened to me. I look around, and observe, and my heart bleeds the ink with which I write the poems. I hope, if you are reading them, you will find a semblance of courage, knowing you are not the only one who has suffered.
To all my sisters: Be brave. Be strong. Embrace life. You are not alone.

Mary M. Cushnie-Mansour resides in Brantford, ON, Canada. She has a freelance journalism certificate from Waterloo University, and in the post, Mary wrote a short story column and feature articles for the Brantford Expositor. She has published collections of poetry and short stories; and a biography, "A 20th Century Portia." Mary is also the award-winning author of the popular "Night's Vampire Series."
