ORANGE documents an ambitious public art event focused on the agriculture and food processing industries.Food has been used in artistic practice since the sixties. In the 21st century, however, food has become a social issue (genetically modified foods, pesticides, drought, food production and distribution) and at the same time a matter of culture (diets, junk food, anorexia, bulimia). Contemporary artistic practice reflects these concerns.??Eighteen Canadian and international artists working in different media created works that highlight the biological, cultural, psychological and political aspects of the production and consumption of food. Au 21e siècle, cependant, la nourriture est devenue une question de société (OGM, pesticides, sécheresses, production et distribution des aliments) et, parallèlement, une question de culture (diètes, malbouffe, anorexie, boulimie). La pratique artistique contemporaine reflète ces préoccupations. Dix-huit artistes canadiens et internationaux ont recours à plusieurs disciplines afin de faire ressortir les conséquences biologiques, culturelles, psychologiques et politiques de la production et de la consommation de la nourriture. Treize auteurs explorent les rôles de la nourriture dans l'art, ainsi que son habileté à communiquer l'intimité et la communauté.
