Description
Selby wants a pet in spite of her mom's allergies and will do anything to get one. After secretly purchasing a snake, Selby realizes that keeping it hidden from her family is far more difficult than she thought.
She does find a way, however, to get even with the school bully, Brian, in a surprising turn of events.

Editorial Reviews
" . . . a terrific little chapter book aimed at kids in Grade 3 and up. . . Godfrey's story is one that will kindle recognition in many kids because it covers so many bases from pining for a pet to hassles from peers, to getting along with siblings. His writing is clean and straightforward, his humour is sharp and he doesn't write down to his readers. Mardon's pictures work well with Godfrey's prose, adding depth and humour to the story."
- The Hamilton Spectator
". . . vintage Martyn Godfrey. Readers in late primary/early junior grades will enjoy this delightful romp. It is an ideal choice for those always on the lookout for beginning chapter books. Recommended."
