David Aston is an award-winning freelance financial journalist, focusing on retirement, personal finance, and investments. He currently writes a regular column for the Toronto Star, and has also written for the Globe and Mail, Morningstar.ca, and MoneySense.ca. He first established his reputation for writing about retirement finances as author of the popular 'Retirement' feature for MoneySense Magazine from 2008 to 2016.

His writing has been recognized six times with awards or honourable mentions by the Portfolio Management Association of Canada annual Award for Excellence in Investment Journalism. In 2014, he was named Journalist of the Year by CFA Society Toronto's Financial Journalism Awards, and was a finalist for the 2013 award. His journalism career follows a 20-year career in management consulting, corporate operations, and corporate financial planning. He holds a Chartered Financial Analyst designation and is a Chartered Professional Accountant. He has an MBA from the Ivey Business School at Western University and an MA in Economics from the University of Toronto.

Dan Bortolotti is the author of five previous books, including Hope in Hell, a portrait of Doctors Without Borders and the Nobel-winning humanitarian aid group.&nbsp He has twice been nominated for the Science in Society Book Award, given by the Canadian Science Writers’ Association.&nbsp His journalism has appeared in more than two dozen publications in North America, including Maclean’s, Saturday Night, and the National Post newspaper.&nbsp Bortolotti lives with his family in Aurora, Ontario, just north of Toronto.

Jonathan Chevreau is a veteran financial columnist, blogger and author. He was personal finance columnist for the Financial Post (1993 - 2012), and editor-in-chief of MoneySense magazine (2012-14). Since declaring his Findependence Day in 2014, he has been blogging for the Motley Fool, Financial Post and MoneySense.ca, and launched the Financial Independence Hub in 2014, a website that covers the topic from a North American perspective. He has published US and Canadian editions of his financial novel Findependence Day and is also the author of The Wealthy Boomer and several editions of Smart Funds.
