Editorial Reviews

"Youngsters who’ve acquired new glasses themselves will be uplifted by this reassuring tale, written by an optometrist. It’s also an important wake-up call for adults to have their children’s vision corrected. Walter’s muted illustrations are lively; snub-nosed Misty and the other animal characters are endearing."Kirkus Reviews

An upbeat and eye-opening primer on dealing with myopia."Short-sightedness (myopia) is becoming increasingly common; in some parts of the world, 8 in every 10 children will develop short-sightedness during their school years. Research has demonstrated convincingly that spending more time outdoors reduces the risk of developing myopia. The Misty Mole books are a really engaging way for children to learn about myopia and the benefits of spending time outdoors. The experiences of Misty Mole will resonate with those who have become myopic themselves – that first pair of glasses makes the world look so incredibly sharp and clear!"—Professor Jeremy Guggenheim, Professor of Myopia Research at Cardiff University, UK
