Description

Set during the tumultuous times of the French Revolution, The Many Lives & Secret Sorrows of Josephine B. pulls back the curtain on the lives of the men and women behind the revolution, telling the story of Josephine Bonaparte's perilous rise from an innocent girl to one of the most sophisticated and powerful women in history.

Opening in 1777, the story travels from the island of Martinique to Paris, from Josephine's first marriage to the birth of her two children, from her imprisonment during the French Revolution to her fateful meeting with Napoleon Bonaparte and her transformation into the Empress Josephine.

A richly detailed story, filled with the emotions of a young woman and a country under seige, The Many Lives & Secret Sorrows of Josephine B. takes readers on a fascinating journey into the heart of one woman whose destiny became inextricably entwined with the history of a nation.
