Description

Loose Pearls is a collection of short stories, gems from a practiced and gifted writer whose insights and imaginings are, as the title suggests, beautiful and mysterious. In contrast with the the superficial sameness of a string of pearls, however, Troicuk calls our attention to the unique and the flawed. Like natural pearls her characters are alive with subtle, resilient and troubled colours.

Loose Pearls

This was kind of a Lifesaver book for me. Not the kind to race through all at once, but the kind or stories you take one at a time and savour. Like a Lifesaver. Each story features excellent writing, identifiable characters, and totally credible plot situations. Entering each of these tales was like putting on headphones; everything else became muted until it was finished.
