Description
Lonely lake is a pristine body of water surrounded by old growth forests. The area around the lake has never been logged or developed, but a consortium of cottage owners and developers wants to build condominiums along the shore.
There is only one land owner on the lake and when he suddenly disappears the Ontario Provincial Police suspect foul play. Without the resistance of the nature-loving land owner, who had said that he wanted to give his property to the Land Trust, it's just a matter of time until the developers get what they want.
Meanwhile stories unfold for an ensemble group of characters that includes single mom Mimi Corbett, her punk friend Dodo, Wally a tragic clown, Eric Lamaze and ecologist, Jim Kennedy a sensitive policeman, Nelson James a Jamaican cook, and Andre Cheval an old artist.
As they go about their daily lives their influences guide the development of young Elgin Corbett, Mimi's 'strange' young son. With the unwitting assistance of the old artist, Elgin eventually finds a clue which unlocks the mystery of the land owner's disappearance, and changes the fate to Lonely Lake forever.
