Description

Jesus Prayer has been with us since the earliest years of Christianity. With its many variations, from “Lord Jesus Christ, son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner,” to only one word “Jesus,” it has been a font of prayer – of being attentive to God – for the monks, nuns, and lay people of the Eastern Church for centuries.

About the author

Irma Zaleski emigrated to Canada in 1952, working as a lecturer at York University and as a writer and translator. Twelve years later, on a visit to Madonna House in Combermere, Ontario, she first encountered the Eastern Orthodox tradition that gives her books their unique flavor. She is the author of a number of books, including Conversion of the Heart, Who Is God?, Who Am I? and Finding Christ Within. Her books form a library of wise counsel and refreshing insight.
