Description
Land Matters explores contemporary Canadian work by artists who investigate landscape as a means of addressing the connection between space and socially produced identity. The publication was produced in conjunction with three exhibitions at the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery: Ground, Reference and Location. These exhibitions featured work from the University of Lethbridge Art Collection by artists including Isabelle Hayeur, Geoffrey James, and Jin-me Yoon as well as new work by Allyson Clay, Patricia Deadman, and M. N. Hutchinson. Along with an essay by the curator, Josephine Mills, the publication also includes guest writer Linda Sawchyn's thoughtful discussion concerning the relationship between walking, environmental action and the landscape as well as three artist projects created for the book by Allyson Clay, Shawna Dempsey and Lori Millan, and M. N. Hutchinson.
