Description
A grandmother fades away just as the fauna and flora wakes up all around a little girl. This departure hurts at first, and the little girl doesn't want to play with anyone. Time passes and seasons too, and the little girl builds herself a box of beautiful things. The box is filled with images, funny moments, and knowing glances that help the girl keep on dancing and laughing with grandma.
About the authors
Christine Arbour lives in Quebec City in a lively neighbourhood full of giant trees. She can see the St. Lawrence River in the distance, which reminds her of her Gaspé origins. After Grandes roues et petits pois (2018) and La boite aux belles choses (2020), finalist for the Prix littéraires des enseignants de français (Literary prizes for teachers of French) 2021, she presents her third illustrated album.
Originally from France, Johanna Lezziero now lives near the Bay of Fundy. Passionate about drawing and the animal world, she spent 10 years in the world of children's fashion as a textile designer. This is the second time she has illustrated a story by Christine Arbour, after La boite aux belles choses in 2020.
