Description

"IAIN BAXTER& (a.k.a. the &MAN) is recognized internationally as one of Canada's pioneering conceptual artists. For 50 years, BAXTER& has been creating thought-provoking work that is simultaneously a joy to experience. The exhibition 1n40rmat10n explores BAXTER&'s interest in the fusion and the confusion between natural and information landscapes in our world.

Glenbow Museum has produced a unique companion to the exhibition, a digital publication stored on a reusable USB flash drive card. Simply flip open the USB connector and insert into your computer's USB port to get instant access to multimedia content such as an essay by Jeffrey Spalding, a video interview with the artist, a time lapse video of the installation of BAXTER&'s new work Shelflife, images of artworks, installation views of the exhibition and more. The publications are individually packaged in mason jars signed by the artist, a direct nod to some of his most iconic works featuring stuffed animals preserved in mason jars.

Published on the occasion of the exhibition IAIN BAXTER&: 1n40rmat10n at the Glenbow Museum, Calgary, January 21 to April 9, 2012; organized by the Glenbow Museum."
