Description
Two Canadian women trace parallel routes in Romania in 1991. Grace is desperately trying to adopt a baby while Esme is searching for her birth mother. Their lives intersect with a Roma family struggling for survival in the aftermath of the post-communist revolution.
About the author
Florence Gibson MacDonald has written extensively for the stage and for radio. Born in Montreal and raised in Cobourg, her M.D. in genetics and biochemistry took her to the Northwest Territories, Hong Kong, and East Africa before returning to Canada to practise and eventually write full-time. Gibson MacDonaldâ??s most notable work includes Belle (winner of the Chalmers Canadian Play Award), and Home is My Road, winner of the CAA Carol Bolt Award in 2004.
