Description
An internationally recognized woodturning designer examines 11 of his finest creations, presenting each piece as a step-by-step project that any woodturner can replicate. Each project begins with the lathe, but features inventive cutting into the turned elements and recombining the pieces to make entirely new forms. Hogbin's innovative turning methods provide stimulating new insight into the lathe, and will help you get more out of your craft.
About the author
Stephen Hogbin, while remaining embedded in his own region of Owen Sound is recognized internationally by collectors, educators and professional organizations for his influence in studio wood turning and furniture making. In the early 1970s, he developed a rich vocabulary of alternate forms to the 1000-year-old technique of lathe work. These innovative forms became a keystone to the development of the contemporary domain. Primarily a studio artist with an inclusive and multi discipline approach, he is also an occasional curator and author.
