About the author
Bruce Hynes was born the son of a blacksmith in Norris Arm, Newfoundland and Labrador, in 1940. His publications include The Eastport Peninsula: A People of the Sea and Soil, The Noble Newfoundland Dog, and ”One Hundred Years of Canadian Military Mapping.“ Apart from rescuing Newfoundland dogs, he is a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Editorial Reviews
“Hynes writes engagingly well, and his book shows extensive research. His commitment to the subject is academic caliber, while his writing style is relaxed and reader-friendly. Hynes allows himself the occasional wry comment regarding witness accounts, but he demonstrates serious regard for his subject. ‘Here Be Dragons’ is a great read, and it’s as informative as it is enjoyable.”
