About the authors

Tom Rossi has been an educator for the past 24 years. He has worked with children at elementary, junior-high and senior-high levels. He has conducted leadership training seminars and regularly provides in-service for fellow educators. He is currently the principal of a Winnipeg elementary school. In his spare time, he enjoys marathon training, boxing, and travelling. Tom lives in Winnipeg with his wife, Sharon.

Dave Leochko, a grade 6 teacher in Winnipeg, Manitoba, has been teaching for the past 24 years. He is the co-author of two other books published by Portage & Main Press, Guiding Readers Through Non-Fiction and Literature Circles: Tools and Techniques. In his spare time, Dave enjoys the outdoors, photography, and boxing.
