About the authors

Born in Victoria, BC, Margaret Blackwood is a visual artist, poet, and fiction writer. With Robin Skelton she co-authored Earth, Air, Fire, Water which traces the pagan elements in the poetry of the British Isles. Her book, The Monstrous Regiment, a compilation of aphorisms about women, was published in 1990. Her work has appeared in Canadian literary magazines, and a chapbook of her poetry, Unfinished World, was published in 1991. She has a BFA from the University of Victoria.

Anne M. Kelly was born in New Orleans. She has made the west coast of Canada her home since 1967. In addition to writing poetry and fiction, she has worked as an actress and visual artist. She has a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria, where she was awarded the medal the Victoria Medal for achievement in fine arts. Her work has appeared in a number of Canadian periodicals.

Poet and fiction writer Kerry Slavens was born in the mining town of Natal, BC, now a ghost town. She presently lives in Victoria, BC, where she received her BA in Creative Writing from the University of Victoria. She is currently writing a novel and a collection of poems, as well as working in the environmental movement and as a freelance writer. She has won several journalism awards, and her work has appeared in numerous Canadian literary magazines.
