Description
This beautifully illustrated book features 68 species of fish found in the lakes, rivers and streams of North America's majestic Rocky Mountains. Each account includes a full-colour illustration by respected Canadian nature illustrator and landscape artist Ian Sheldon, as well as a range map and information on feeding, spawning, status of the population, similar species, and best sites for viewing. A further 53 species found in Rocky Mountain waters are described briefly in an appendix. The book provides tips on how best to observe fish while an easy-to-follow key will help with identification. You'll find a glossary that defines many important terms. The extensive and well-illustrated introduction answers many of the questions you might have about the fish and their mountain environment.
