Description

A rare glimpse into the moral strengths and values of a vanishing era. This is the diary of a young Canadian woman working as a journalist in England in 1949-1954. Each entry is in fact a letter sent to her mother in Canada. Their elationship, founded on a Catholic upbringing, is as unblemished as the Confessional. Ouida MacLellan succeeded in gaining entry to the newspaper empire of Lord Beaverbrook, a rare achievement for a woman. The narrative interest of her letters derives frm her work and her social life, enhanced by her attractiveness to men.
