Description

One of the most sought-out cruising areas of the Pacific Northwest, the protected waters of Desolation Sound and the surrounding network of the Discovery Islands are world-famous for their pristine and spectacular natural beauty. The interconnecting waterways encompass large tracts of accessible wilderness that entices boaters, sailors and kayakers to visit each year.

With over 100 revised charts and new information alongside stunning colour photographs, this completely updated edition provides detailed knowledge of each anchorage and marina, including the latest information about fuel docks and available services, as well as marine parks to explore and much more. This indispensable reference will enhance every boater's plotting and cruising experience.

The Yeadon-Jones' bestselling Dreamspeaker Cruising Guide series is beloved by local and visiting boaters alike. It encompasses seven volumes and provides the most detailed coverage of the Pacific Northwest--from the San Juan Islands and Washington State, to British Columbia's Cape Scott and the west coast of Vancouver Island. Each volume is filled with meticulous hand-drawn charts and vital information that guides boaters safely into busy harbours, marinas and sheltered anchorages.

About the authors

Accomplished boating guide authors and sailors, Anne and Laurence Yeadon-Jones have produced seven Dreamspeaker Guides that provide highly detailed and comprehensive coverage of the Pacific Northwest - from Olympia, Washington State to the northern tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia.

Their first adventure began when they left England and crossed the Atlantic Ocean aboard their 36-foot sailboat Dreamspeaker. Sailing to the East Coast of the United States via the Caribbean, they made Vancouver, Canada their home in 1988.

The first Dreamspeaker Guide was published in 1998. With Laurence's architectural background and love of drawing, design and geography and Anne's flair for descriptive and entertaining letters to family and friends, they combined their talents to create a successful series of guides that promote a safe and fun boating lifestyle.

Over the last 26 years Anne and Laurence have logged thousands of cruising hours charting, recording and photographing the rugged and beautiful coastline and islands of the Pacific Northwest. Their Dreamspeaker Guides are filled with Laurence's meticulous hand-drawn charts, and vital navigational and local information that guide boaters safely into busy harbors, marinas and sheltered anchorages.
