Description
One morning, Mickey Finnegan, unemployed journalist, receives an odd telephone call from a woman he doesn?t know: Has he heard from Carole Rutland? Does he know where Carole is? These questions about Rutland, who used to live in the same rundown west-end Toronto rooming house with Mickey, set off a wild chase involving old friends, vicious enemies, dirty videos, academics, and an old Shakespearean manuscript? all leading to an inevitable explosion of violence. Carroll's style is edgy, cool, and inexorably gripping, and his characters are fascinating and original.
