Description
Over ten years have passed since Oxford University Press first published Contributions to Neuropsychological Assessment, making more widely available the clinical tests developed at the Benton Laboratory of Neuropsychology. Since 1983, many new findings have been generated as these tests are used in a variety of clinical and research contexts. This second edition summarizes this research and adds normative data on new populations including children and the elderly.

Editorial Reviews
"This book is more than an administrative manual for neuropsychologists. It is a monument to Dr. Benton's method of test development...The tests are elegant in their rationale, development, clarity, and ease of administration."--Neurology
"The brevity of the book and the consistency of the framework across all chapters facilitate rapid consultation. This will undoubtedly enhance its use and make it a favorite among professionals constricted by time limitations....The authors have provided a concise and relatively encompassing expose of important neuropsychological functions which are often insufficiently imparted....Useful to clinical neuropsychologists, psychometrists, and researchers in the field of neuropsychological assessment and related issues."--Journal of Psychiatry and Neuroscience
"The work of Dr. Benton and his colleagues is well known for the excellence of its methodological approach to problems of brain damage assessment....What characterizes most (of the tests)...is not only the accuracy with which the material has been prepared and the instructions for test administration have been laid down, but also the impressive body of normative and clinical data that underpin their clinical sensitivity....Not just another battery to use indiscriminately...but a precious kit of diagnostic tools among which the accomplished neuropsychologist will select those suited to answer the specific questions he has in mind."--Cortex
"This second edition...will be an invaluable clinical manual for many neuropsychologists and neurologists interested in cognition."--Canadian Journal of Neurological Sciences
"The Benton battery continues to be a mainstay of clinical neuropsychological assessment. It is an ideal group of tests to form the foundation for those learning the principles, rationale, and methodology of the detective work called neuropsychology."--Dr. Bryan Fantie, The American University
