Description

This publication documents a long-term curatorial project undertaken by University of Lethbridge Art Gallery Director/Curator Josephine Mills to investigate concepts and processes involved with public collecting practice. Over the course of three exhibitions (Found, Bibliomania and Collecting Collecting), these ideas were explored through the display of contemporary works by Canadian artists Annie Martin, William Eakin, Lorne Beug, and Jennifer Stillwell, as well as artworks selected from the extensive University of Lethbridge Art Collection, the Paul D. Fleck Library collection at the Banff Centre for the Arts, and the Kelowna Art Gallery.

Collecting Everyday features full-colour reproductions of the works featured in all three exhibitions, artists’ projects by Annie Martin, Shauna McCabe and Lorne Beug, and an essay by University of Lethbridge Art Gallery Director/Curator Josephine Mills.
