Description

Canada's Atlantic Gateway: An Illustrated History of the Port of Halifax chronicles the fascinating history of one of the largest, most impressive natural harbours in the world. Port historian James Frost deftly follows the evolution of the port from the building of the first wharves in the mid-18 century through to the containerization revolution of the late twentieth and early twenty-first century.

Illustrated throughout with 175 black-and-white and full-colour photos, and with an introduction by Karen Oldfield, president and CEO of Halifax Port Authority, Canada's Atlantic Gateway is the definitive history of one of the country's most important cultural and commerical landmarks.
