Robin Bright is a professor in the Faculty of Education at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in language arts, reading, writing, and gender. Previously, Dr. Bright taught elementary school for ten years. She has written several books (including Write from the Start, published by Portage & Main Press in 2001) and numerous articles on learning to read and write. In her work as an educator, Dr. Bright provides student teachers and experienced teachers alike with stimulating professional development activities related to the literacy needs and interests of Canadian children, especially teens. She and her family enjoy reading and travelling together.
