Description
At the heart of every Catholic school’s mission is the formation of Catholic character. Cultivating that identity is both a challenge and opportunity for Catholic educators. It is a challenge for us to explore our own understanding of Catholic identity and an opportunity to shape and form the children entrusted to us.
Using the framework of the theological, cardinal and communal virtues, author Ted Laxton offers reflections on real-life experiences in schools and invites us to consider how we may build a truly Catholic culture in our schools. Each scenario and reflection process guides us toward a common understanding of our mission and shared sense of meaning, shaped and formed by the Catholic tradition.
The stories and activities within this book are perfect for the on-going formation of staff working in Catholic schools. Whether used for reflection moments at staff meetings, staff retreat days or even personal reflection, staff will find this book an excellent resource for fostering and promoting Catholic character among themselves and their students.
