The story of a girl in a remote village of southern Italy, considered a "barrel of wine" to be sold off quickly, lest she turn to vinegar.
". . . a novel that describes the real lives of a vanished world with brilliant and down-to-earth sincerity."
-Quill & Quire
About the author
Anna Paletta Zurzolo, a mother of two and a successful business woman, came to Canada from Italy at the age of fourteen. She "learned all about Dick, Jane and everything else in order to survive in 'paradise' among boxes of Unico tomatoes, pasta, and 'undefiled' olive oil in the basement of my father's grocery store." She now calls Winnipeg home. Bread, Wine and Angels is her first novel.
