About the authors

From a young age, Damon Calderwoodhas always been interested in wildlife. Graduating in 1991 with a degree in animal biology, he taught high school for several years before turning to a career in acting. Since then, he has appeared in over 175 stage and television productions. When not acting, he pursues wildlife photography and maintains a photo website at globalbirdphotos.com. Damon lives in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia.

Donald E. Waite is a former RCMP officer, an established historian, and an accomplished bird photographer with over four decades’ experience. Waite opened a portrait studio in Maple Ridge, BC, in 1971 and sustained his passion for photography after retirement. He is the author of numerous books on birding and BC regional history.
