Description
Advocacy in Practice is the first Canadian text to combine anti-oppressive theory and practice with practical information about analyzing, planning, and initiating advocacy action in the human services. Presenting anti-oppressive advocacy as an ethical and moral obligation of all human service practitioners, this text provides the support and foundational knowledge students need to bring positive change to their communities.

Editorial Reviews
"This is one of the best textbooks I have come across in six years of teaching! . . . The focus on AOP (anti-oppressive practice) is phenomenal; it stands out among other advocacy-focused textbooks." --Sirena Liladrie, Sheridan College
"This is an important Canadian text on advocacy that is practical and relevant for students in social service work programs. Its practical explanation of successful anti-oppressive praxis feels groundbreaking in its simplicity and its hopefulness." --Natalie Wood, George Brown College
