Description
It's a Mattagash wedding! Everyone's invited, and no one's without an agenda? Amy Joy Lawler is getting married-to an outsider. Her mother, Sicily, has taken to her bed in protest, while the crafty residents of Mattagash approach the social event of the year with varying goals. To bankrupt motel owner Albert Pinkham, it's a chance to fill his cash register. To the Ivy family, it's a time to repairrelationships. To the no-good Gifford clan, it's a chance to filch wedding gifts. A Wedding on the Banks beautifully weaves together family, heritage, and place in a novel that combines bawdy humor and tenderness-with astonishing results.
