About the authors

Ernest Mathijs is an associate professor of Film Studies at the University of British Columbia. Mathijs heads the department's Centre for Cinema Studies and he is the series editor of Contemporary Cinema and Cultographies.

Xavier Mendik is director of the Cult Film Archive and a lecturer on the Film and Television Studies degree. As director of the Cult Film Archive, Mendik established an internationally renowned research center of cult and underground cinema. He has published on a wide variety of cult and horror traditions, with particular reference to issues of representation within 1970s European and American underground and exploitation cinema.
