For readers of Emily Henry, Gail Honeyman and Josie Silver, Chantel Guertin's Two for the Road is a tender, funny and wise new novel about a romance bookshop owner who embarks on the adventure—or misadventure—of a lifetime in search of her own happily ever after.

Book Cover Exes and O's

Exes and O’s, by Amy Lea

In Two for the Road, my heroine longs for an IRL meet-cute but thinks it’s impossible when meeting guys through a dating app. Same goes for Tara Chen, the heroine of Exes and O’s.

Tara’s solution? To revisit her exes in the hopes of securing her very own trope-worthy second-chance romance.

Book Cover Meet Cute

Meet Cute, by Helena Hunting

Eight years ago, Kailyn and Dax were friends. Now, they’re not—and he’s standing in her office asking for legal advice.

Like my novel Instamom, there’s a single-parent angle, which I enjoyed because it’s a complicating factor in relationships that isn’t often explored in rom-com novels. Oh, and the chemistry is excellent.

book Cover Sari Not Sari

Sari, Not Sari, by Sonya Singh

This debut features the beautiful young CEO of a company that helps people manage their breakups, Manny, who makes a deal with one sexy Sammy as they prep for Manny’s brother’s Indian wedding. This one’s funny and fast-paced.

Book Cover Hana Khan Carries On

Hana Khan Carries On, by Uzma Jalaluddin

You’ve Got Mail is one of my favourite rom-coms (what? I’m not the only fan?). So I loved this modern take about a family-run Halal restaurant that’s in competition with a new restaurant that moves in next door. Heroine Hana serves up biryani poutine at her family’s restaurant and witty banter on her anonymous podcast with an avid listener—but who could he be?

Book Cover Really Good Actually

Really Good, Actually, by Monica Heisey

Sort of anti-romance comedy, this story of one woman’s year post-divorce is laugh-out-loud funny. Having once been divorced myself, I related to that feeling of starting over, being single and forging a new path.

Book Cover Reasonable Adults

Reasonable Adults, by Robin Lefler

Meet Kate Rigsby. After her life falls apart, she takes a three-month gig at a swanky Muskoka arts retreat. What she thinks will be a blissful escape is anything but. And her co-worker, who just happens to be super sexy, is off-limits.

Book Cover Meet Me At the Lake

Meet Me at the Lake, by Carley Fortune (Coming soon…)

Like Fortune’s debut, Every Summer After, this one has a dual timeline that takes you between present day and the heroine’s younger self, which I loved. Growing up, my family would go to a family-owned inn in Muskoka every summer, so reading this romance brought me all those feels.

Sometimes there are detours on the road to love . . .

Beyond the walls of her romance bookstore, Gigi Rutherford is out of stock when it comes to her own love interests. And instead of enduring one bad date after another, these days she'd rather curl up at home with her favorite audiobook and the only man who makes her heart skip a beat: Zane Wilkenson, the smooth-voiced narrator Gigi is convinced is her soulmate.

Then, she's presented with the chance of a lifetime: a ten-day bus tour through the hilly English countryside, taking in the sights and sounds of a world an ocean away from her bookstore--all in the presence of the man of her dreams, Zane, as he leads the tour . . . in person.

But things don't go as planned. When Gigi arrives at the bus terminal in London, Zane is nowhere to be found. Until he shows up, she's stuck with an eclectic group of fellow travelers she'd rather not be with on a long road trip, including the brooding bus driver, Taj, who Gigi finds infuriating but also incredibly alluring.

Will Gigi find a happy ending with Zane? Or will each stop on the tour bring her closer to a completely different destination?
