Frances Eldridge

Fran Eldridge was born in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, and at the age of seventeen headed west to Edmonton, Alberta, where she completed her education. She spent time in the Northwest Territories before moving to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, where she presently resides. Many of her stories are set in these locales.Fran’s fictional short stories are loosely based on her experiences of growing up in rural Nova Scotia, as well as life encounters she has had as an adult. Her retirement from the nursing profession was followed by a career in labour relations, and finally starting her own business growing and selling culinary herbs. Throughout it all, her desire to write has remained fervent.Fran now focuses her time writing short stories and developing her interest in poetry. She is a long-time member of a Saskatoon writers group and appreciates the literary guidance of the many Writers-in-Residence at the Saskatoon Public Library.Fran hopes readers will enjoy these stories of trials and tribulations in this, her first published book—each of which at some point reaching “A Moment of Clarity.”
