Description

Cale Finch's plans for Spring Break? EAT, SLEEP, SKATE.

Cale's determined that this time he'll successfully ollie the set of seven stairs that mark initiation into the Seven Stair Crew, a group of older, junior-high skaters. But Cale soon finds that not all local skaters are welcoming to grommets (new skaters) like him. He has to find his voice, learn to stand up for himself, and believe in his own ability to skate in order to find his rightful place in this youth subculture.

Editorial Reviews

"Fast-paced with events following one after the other in rapid succession. The writing is clear and the language used is appropriate for a YA audience."

CM: Canadian Review of Materials

"a great skateboarding book with lots of descriptions of skateboarding tricks and action, as well as a pleasant plot that did not involve building a skate park. I could use 20 books just like this, so I hope that this is a series!"

Karen Yingling, Middle School Librarian

"well-written and high interest for those interested in skateboarding. The tricks that Cale and the rest of the Seven Stair Crew do on their boards is laid out in detail" Rated G - Good, even great at times, generally useful!
